1. Introduction

BuildReels ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use buildreels.com.

2. Information We Collect

Account information: Email address and password (stored securely via Supabase Auth) when you create an account.

Content you provide: Topics and scripts you enter to generate videos. These are stored to display your history and improve the service.

API keys (Pro users only): If you provide your own OpenAI API key, it is stored encrypted in our database and used solely to make API calls on your behalf.

Payment information: We do not store your payment card details. Payments are handled by our payment processor (Creem) or via NowPayments for cryptocurrency. We receive only a customer ID and subscription status.

Usage data: Number of videos generated, plan tier, and general usage patterns to operate and improve the service.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account
  • To process your video generation requests
  • To manage your subscription and billing
  • To enforce usage limits per your plan
  • To send transactional emails (account confirmation, payment receipts)
  • To respond to support requests
  • To improve and maintain the Service

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Social Media Integrations

BuildReels allows you to connect your social media accounts (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok) to publish videos directly from the platform. When you connect a social media account, we collect and store:

  • OAuth access tokens and refresh tokens — used solely to publish videos on your behalf. Stored encrypted in our database.
  • Channel/account identifiers — your channel name, channel ID, or account username, used to display your connected account in Settings.

We do not read your followers, messages, analytics, contacts, or any content other than what is required to post on your behalf. You can disconnect any social account at any time from your Settings page, which permanently deletes all stored tokens for that account.

Google / YouTube

BuildReels uses the YouTube Data API v3 to upload videos to your YouTube channel. We request the following OAuth scopes:

  • youtube.upload — to upload videos to your channel
  • youtube.readonly — to read your channel name and ID

Google API Limited Use Disclosure: BuildReels' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

We do not use Google user data for advertising, do not transfer Google user data to third parties, and do not allow humans to read your Google data except as necessary to provide the service or as required by law.

Instagram

BuildReels uses the Instagram Content Publishing API to post Reels to your Instagram account. We store your Instagram access token and numeric user ID to make publishing requests on your behalf. We do not access your direct messages, followers, or feed content.

TikTok

BuildReels uses the TikTok Direct Post API (video.publish scope) to publish videos directly to your TikTok account on your behalf. We store your TikTok access token and open ID solely to make posting requests. We do not access your TikTok messages, followers, inbox, or any other account data.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate BuildReels:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage. Supabase Privacy Policy
  • OpenAI — AI script generation and text-to-speech voiceover. OpenAI Privacy Policy
  • Pexels — royalty-free stock video footage. Pexels Privacy Policy
  • Creem — payment processing. Payment data is handled directly by our payment processor and never stored on our servers.
  • NowPayments — cryptocurrency payment processing. Crypto payment data is handled directly by NowPayments and never stored on our servers.
  • Google / YouTube — video publishing via YouTube Data API v3. Google Privacy Policy
  • Meta / Instagram — video publishing via Instagram Content Publishing API. Instagram Privacy Policy
  • TikTok — video publishing via TikTok Content Posting API. TikTok Privacy Policy

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data and generated reel records for as long as your account is active. Generated video files are stored in Supabase Storage and may be deleted after 90 days to manage storage costs. You can delete your account by contacting us.

7. Cookies

We use minimal cookies necessary to maintain your login session (provided by Supabase Auth). We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Export your data in a portable format

9. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data storage, secure HTTPS connections, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
